Abstract The Septuagint study has demonstrated how this version of the Hebrew text has indications of theological motivation and hermeneutic action, in the sense of an update of the text, in relation to the original. This theologically motivated hermeneutic translation influenced at various times the authors of the New Testament, who widely used the Septuagint. Thus, this article will seek to demonstrate these aspects, indicating with examples how this happened, both in the way the Hebrew text was translated into Greek, and in the use that the authors of the New Testament made of this translation.
