The state has become an indispensable part of the communal life from the first periods of history. As the shape of the state varies according to its society, the acceptance of the power by the public is an essential element for each state. In certain periods of Islamic history, some scholars such as jurists, philosophers and authors of mirrors for princes felt the need to support the legitimacy of existing political authority and they have revealed theories of state in their studies to protect the religious belief, to prevent the deterioration of social order and to ensure justice. The Timurid period was no exception, but the political theories of this period has not been the subject of much research so far. In this study Timurid theory of state and the place of Timurid sultan in this theory is held according to main sources of the period
