Abstract:

The museums are rich learning environments where all kinds of artistic, cultural and historical life of communities from the past to the present is reflected. Initially, the purpose of the museums was to collect, preserve, document and exhibit historical objects. But today, these goals have changed to contribute to the development of individual critical and creative thinking skills, to help them connect between the past, today and the future, to develop sensitivity to art and history. This study includes the work done in the project by third-class teachers candidates for Yozgat Bozok University's Social Information Education in the Community Service Applications course and the views of high school students on the museum education. The goal of the project is to contribute to the development of a positive attitude to the museums through interactive events in the museum. The project was carried out at the Yozgat Museum. In the project applications, 32 students who are studying in the 6th grade of Fatma Basel Turhan High School participated. The activities were conducted under the guidance of eight candidates. The research method is used by research methods. After the application, students’ opinions were taken through semi-configured interview forms. The research finds that students find the museum activities they actively participate fun, useful and interesting.
