Bu araştırmanın amacı; işbirlikli öğrenme ve geleneksel öğretim yöntemlerinin, tohumlu bitkiler sistematiği laboratuarı dersine yönelik tutum ve başarıya etkisini incelemektir. Araştırma; 2007-2008 öğretim yılı bahar döneminde Dicle Üniversitesi Ziya Gökalp Eğitim Fakültesi, Biyoloji Eğitimi Anabilim Dalı, III. Sınıf öğrencilerinden tohumlu bitkiler sistematiği laboratuarı dersini alan 24 öğrenci üzerinde yürütülmüştür. Araştırmada ön test-son test kontrol gruplu model kullanılmıştır. Kontrol grubuna geleneksel öğretim yöntemleri; deney grubuna ise işbirlikli öğrenme yöntemi tekniklerinden; öğrenci takımları â" başarı bölümleri tekniği uygulanmıştır. Araştırmada elde edilen verilerin analizi için t-testi teknikleri kullanılmıştır. Araştırmadan elde edilen bulgulara göre; işbirlikli öğrenme yönteminin başarı düzeylerini arttırmada daha etkili olduğu istatistiksel olarak belirlenmiştir. Derse yönelik tutumlarına bakıldığında ise deney ve kontrol grupları arasında anlamlı bir fark bulunmamıştır.
