At the present day, the increase in factors such as worsening living conditions, economic crises and intense work pace raise the need of happiness. Thus in this study; the concept of happiness is preferred because of having a clear and up to date development issues. Living conditions 10%, genetic characteristics 50% and the activities 40% affect the happiness of individuals. Direct activities to be happy are discussed within activities. Holiday has a great value within the activities which are the individual’s control. To the effect that; a holiday can’t be an enjoyable but then holiday memories are remembered and individual’s happiness may increase. In this context; the basis of the research is based on the interaction between tourism and happiness. The main objective of this study is to reveal the relationship between the tourism and happiness. For this purpose; it is aimed at sea over research, investigate the factors that cause happiness of individuals. Within this study; associated with happiness literature review was conducted, determining factors of happiness and measure of happiness are detailed. And then the relationship between happiness and tourism were examined in the light of literature. In literature, the studies are aimed at happiness have a subjective approach rather than objective approach. Because, objective approaches are inadequate in fully respect explanation of happiness. Studies focuses on the existence of a positive relationship between happiness and tourism. Holidays are expressed as a relaxing time in addition to away from work and stress. Additionally; experience with travel increase the happiness of the tourists
