Abstract:

Modernization, which has changed society in all aspects in the concept of "new" and "western" progress, has begun to enter the Turkish society and state structure from the 19th century. Countries with foreign society and state structure are deprived of the dynamics and development stages of the West. Therefore, the case of modernization/Westernization has brought together a number of issues in the Turkish Islamic culture and tradition. The important influence of the bright, the journalist-artist-scientist, who represents the ideas of society in the overcoming of these issues is discussed. In the modernization of Turkey, the light has an important role. This study deals with how a clear identity has been revealed by Ahmet Hamdi Tanpınar from the Republic's light of the time with his views, thoughts and opinions. In his various works, Tanpınar reflects his own clear personality. As a bright man who builds a bond between the East and the West, the various works of Tanpınar, modernization, Turkish modernization and the theoretical foundations of the bright concepts have been studied.
