Abstract:

This study aims to study the digital citizenship levels of teachers candidates who are studying in different departments at a state university’s Faculty of Education in terms of different variables. Research is an imaginary research-mode in the scan model from quantum research methods. The sample of the study consists of teachers candidates studying in different departments at the State University of Education. In the framework of the study, the current scales in the field were examined and the use of the Digital Citizenship Scale developed by Som-Vural (2016) was decided. The scale is in a structure of 23 matters and 5 factors. The data obtained was studied in terms of demographic variables and determined variables related to access to technology. The data analysis found that the digital citizenship levels of the teachers candidates varied significantly according to the gender and the study part that was determined as a demographic variable, but there was no significant difference according to the class, age range and income level. The level of digital citizenship is close to each other and high in terms of the field is an important conclusion. When the digital citizenship levels of teachers are studied in terms of the variation of access to technology, the digital citizenship levels are significantly differentiated in terms of computer ownership, computer use time (on the basis of the year), the time spent on the most commonly used social network, e-government code ownership and the use of an effective e-mail address. However, it has been determined that the level of digital citizenship of the teachers candidates is not significantly different from the time of internet use.
