The 21st. It has undergone a diverse change in the context of people’s lives, lifestyle, education, politics, culture, technology, and this change is still ongoing. Today, due to technological developments, Web 2.0 technology has become important in the everyday life and education of students. This study aims to identify the impact of geography subjects in social information education on the academic success and attitudes of students by using the Web 2.0 technologies. In this study, the Solomon Four Groups design was used from the experimental patterns of quantum research methods. The research work group consists of 6th grade students in 4 different classes that are studying in the secondary school in the first period of the 2019-2020 educational year in the Central District of Sivas. The researchers developed the "Academic Success Test of Social Information" as a data collection tool in the study and used the "Social Information Attitude Scale" prepared by the Co-workers and Co-workers (2003), the data obtained was analyzed with the SPSS 23.0 package program. Students in the experimental group and control group were determined that the final test average scores obtained by the implementation of success and attitude tests were quite high in favor of the experimental group and compared to the control group. The results are based on the Web 2. It can be concluded that the application of technology contributes positively to the academic success of students and has a positive impact on the attitudes of students in social information education.

21.yy. tüm boyutlarıyla insanların hayatlarını, yaşam tarzlarını; eğitim, politika, siyaset, kültür, teknoloji bağlamında çok yönlü bir değişime uğratmıştır ve bu değişim hala devam etmektedir. Günümüzde teknolojik gelişmelere bağlı olarak öğrencilerin günlük yaşamında ve eğitimde Web 2.0 teknolojisi önemli hale gelmiştir. Bu çalışmada, Sosyal bilgiler eğitiminde coğrafya konularının Web 2.0 teknolojileri kullanılarak öğretiminin öğrencilerin akademik başarı ve tutumlarına etkisinin ortaya çıkarılması amaçlanmaktadır. Bu çalışmada nicel araştırma yöntemlerinin deneysel desenlerden olan Solomon Dörtlü Gruplar deseni kullanılmıştır. Araştırmanın çalışma grubunu Sivas ili Merkez İlçesinde 2019-2020 eğitim öğretim yılının ilk döneminde Ortaokulda öğrenim görmekte olan 4 farklı sınıfta yer alan 6.sınıf öğrencileri oluşturmaktadır. Çalışmada veri toplama aracı olarak araştırmacılar tarafından geliştirilen “Sosyal Bilgiler Akademik Başarı Testi” ve Çaydaş ve Balcıoğulları (2003) tarafından hazırlanan “Sosyal Bilgiler Tutum Ölçeği” kullanılmış, elde edilen verilerin SPSS 23.0 paket programı ile analiz edilmiştir. Deney grubu ve kontrol grubunda yer alan öğrencilere başarı ve tutum testlerinin uygulanması ile elde edilen son test ortalama puanlarının deney grubunun lehinde ve kontrol grubundan oldukça yüksek olduğu belirlenmiştir. Elde edilen bulgulardan yola çıkarak Web 2.0 teknolojisi uygulamasının öğrencilerin akademik başarısına olumlu yönde etki ederek katkı sağladığı ve sosyal bilgiler eğitiminde öğrenci tutumlarına olumlu yönde etki ettiği sonucuna ulaşılabilir.
