Introduction: The food pattern has undergoing changes in most countries, mainly in the replacement of nature foods or minimally processed by industrialized foods, submitted to methods which can change in an unfavorable way their nutritional composition. Objective: Associate food consumption with nutritional status of industrial workers. Materials and methods: This is a transversal study of analytical character. Was used data from 38 industrial workers of both sexes, between the ages 28 e 50 years. Results: Among the participants, 44.7% had BMI within normal limits, 65.8% without risk for diseases, and 55.3% presented moderate risk in the classification of the Waist-Hip Ratio (WHR). There were significant associations between the consumption of processed / ultraprocessed foods and BMI (p=0.031), processed / ultraprocessed foods and WC (p=0.001) and processed / ultraprocessed foods and WHR (p=0.003). It was observed that 48.5% of individuals with overweight showed a high consumption of processed foods. Discussion: The population studied reveals a higher percentage of overweight, this was compared with another study, and it’s interesting to observe the nutritional transition with the increase in the consumption of processed foods. Found increased consumption of processed / ultraprocessed foods in individuals with lower education, suggesting that people's level of knowledge has influence on their food choices. Conclusion: Significant association was found between the consumption of processed/ultra-processed foods and BMI, as well as WC and WHR in industrial workers.
