Abstract:

It is an important step to jointly assess and address many indicators that include the economic and social characteristics for the planning of regional developments. Therefore, we need to consider the similarities and differences between the regions. In this study, a multi-dimensional scale analysis was used to identify the similarities and differences between 12 regions in terms of 13 socio-economic indicators and to make a graphic assessment. The study took into account five-year data for the years 2014-2018 for 12 regions. The study assessed the unemployment rate, poverty rate, Guinea rate, GDP per person, number of university graduates, total exports, total imports, population intensity, urbanization rate, number of vehicles, number of prisoners, total processed agricultural area and plant production value data and determined the location of the regions through coordinates and graphs. According to the results obtained, poverty rate, Gini rate, GDP per person, number of university graduates, total exports, total imports, population intensity and urbanization rates indicates the distinction of the Istanbul region from other regions. For the unemployment rate, it has been seen that Southeast Anatolia and Middle East Anatolia, Western Anatolia in terms of the number of vehicles, Ege in terms of the number of prisoners, Central Anatolia in terms of the total processed agricultural area, and Mediterranean in terms of the index of plant production value.
