The present study was undertaken to develop predictive equations for estimating total body volume from simple method using body weight in Turkish young men. Mean values and standard deviations of total body volume, body surface area, body mass index, totalbody water density, height, and weight of 30 Turkish young men aged 20-28 years are presented in this study. Relationship between total body volume and total body surface area are also examined. Highly significant and positive correlations existed between total body volume and total body surface area according to Mosteller (r=0.821) and also weight, and height the values of correlation coefficients (r) are 0.788 and 0.495, respectively. Body volume was estimated from weight, and height separately and together by using linear regression analysis. Based on the regression analysis results, coefficient of determination was found as 0.486 for only height, 0.621 for only weight and 0.753 for height and weight together. Thus actually proved to be easy using weight for calculate total body volume. Further studies need to be performed with a larger sample size and using an external group to validate the equations
