Abstract:

Obezite, vücutta aşırı yağ birikimidir. Ortalama vücut ağırlığına sahip erkeklerde vücut yağı %15-20, kadınlarda ise %25-30 arasındadır. Vücut yağ yüzdesini belirlemek kolay olmadığı için obezite, aşırı yağdan daha çok aşırı kilo olarak tanımlanmaktadır. Dünya Sağlık Örgütü (DSÖ), fazla kilolu-luk ve obezite tanımını beden kitle indeksine (BKİ = Ağırlık [kg] / Boy [m2]) dayanarak yapmaktadır. Artan obezite prevalansı tüm dünyada büyük bir sağlık problemidir.

Obesity is an excessive fat accumulation in the body. In men with an average body weight, the body oil is between 15-20% and in women between 25-30%. Because it is not easy to determine the body fat percentage, obesity is defined as more overweight than excess fat. The World Health Organization (WHO) defines overweight and obesity based on the body mass index (BMI = Weight [kg] / Size [m2]). The prevalence of obesity is a major health problem worldwide.
