Botanik bahçelerine yönelik görüş belirleme ölçeği: Güvenirlik ve geçerlik çalışması

Bu çalışma, öğretmen adaylarının botanik bahçeleri hakkındaki tutumlarını belirlemeye yönelik geçerli ve güvenilir bir ölçek geliştirmeyi amaçlamaktadır. Bu amaç doğrultusunda araştırmacılar tarafından öncelikle ilgili literatür taranmış ve buna göre öncül maddeler hazırlanarak 76 maddelik ölçek soruları oluşturulmuştur. Sonrasında ise söz konusu maddeler için uzman görüşü alınarak ölçeğin deneme formu hazırlanmıştır. 5’li Likert tipinde hazırlanan ölçeğin deneme formu Atatürk Üniversitesi Kazım Karabekir Eğitim Fakültesinde öğrenim gören 54 (46 kız, 8 erkek) biyoloji ve 327 (276 kız, 51 erkek) fen bilgisi alanından olmak üzere toplam 381 öğretmen adayına uygulanmıştır. Uygulama sonrası elde edilen veriler doğrultusunda ölçeğin geçerlik ve güvenirlik analizleri yapılmıştır. Ölçeğin geçerlik aşamalarında yapılan madde analizi ve açıklayıcı faktör analizi sonrasında ölçeğin toplam varyansın %50.478’ini açıklayan ve 49 maddeden oluşan üç faktörlü bir yapıya sahip olduğu ortaya çıkmıştır. Ölçeğin güvenirlik analizlerinde Cronbach Alpha iç tutarlık katsayısı hesaplanmış ve 0.963 değeri bulunmuştur. Elde edilen bu bulgular, bu ölçme aracının öğretmen adaylarının botanik bahçeleri hakkındaki tutumlarını belirlemede geçerli ve güvenilir bir ölçek olduğunu göstermektedir.

The scale of determining the view of botanical gardens: reliability and validity study

Abstract:

This study aims to develop a valid and reliable scale to determine the teaching candidates’ attitudes towards botanical gardens. For this purpose, the researchers first scanned the relevant literature and according to this, the preliminary materials were prepared and 76 material scale questions were created. After that, the examination form was prepared for the subject matter by taking the expert opinion. The experimental form of the scale prepared in the likert type 5 was applied to a total of 381 teachers candidates, including 54 (46 girls, 8 men) biology and 327 (276 girls, 51 men) science knowledge fields, who studied at the Atatürk University Kazim Karabekir Education Faculty. According to the data obtained after the application, validity and reliability of the scale were analyzed. After the substance analysis and the explanatory factor analysis in the validity stages of the measurement, it was found that the measurement has a three-factor structure that explains 50.478% of the total variance and consists of 49 matters. In the reliability analysis of the measurement, the internal consistency ratio of Cronbach Alpha was calculated and found a value of 0.963. These findings show that this measurement tool is a valid and reliable scale in determining the attitudes of teachers candidates to botanical gardens.

The aim of this study is to develop a valid and reliable scale determining the prospective teachers’ attitudes towards the botanic gardens. For this aim, literature review was made by the researchers and the 76 item-draft scale was prepared by getting the expert opinion for these initial items. This draft scale, which was a five-point Likert type, was applied to 381 prospective teachers in total, which includes 54 (46 female, 8 male) biology and 327 (276 female, 51 male) science department students at Ataturk University, Education Faculty of Kazım Karabekir. The validity and reliability analyses of the scale were made in the light of the data obtained through the study conducted with the participants. In the result of the item analysis and exploratory factor analysis, it was found that the scale had a construct of 3 factors with 49 items and the total variance explained was 50.478%. Cronbach Alpha internal consistency was calculated for the reliability analyses of the scale and it was found as .963 for the whole scale. As a result, these findings showed that the scale is a valid and reliable measurement tool for determining the prospective teachers’ attitudes towards botanic gardens.
