Abstract:

The increasing competition with globalization shows itself in every field. Companies, operating in international markets, are increasing their focus on human capital, which is one of their most important resources in the face of this challenging competition, and they spend more work and time to reach qualified staff. In this stage, the biggest assistant of are undoubtedly the job-seekers and platforms that gather employers together. In this study, one of the platforms in question, the career.net website examined what qualifications are sought from candidates in the job ads for the profession of external trade experts. Thus, the employers are intended to identify the qualifications they demand from the candidates, primarily the policy makers, including educational institutions. In the framework of the study, a total of 314 ads that were published on the site kariyer.net on 10.09.2021 on the position of Foreign Trade Expert were included in the research and submitted to content analysis. According to the results of the study; the most announced province of Istanbul, the sector of Chemistry, the department of import-export department, the educational status license, the graduated department of international trade, the experience status is at least 2 years. In business definitions, the import-export operations process management, logistics process management and document preparation and tracking titles have been ranked in the first three. Basic skills include English language knowledge, MS Office programs knowledge and foreign trade and customs legislation knowledge requirements, while supporting skills include communication, teamwork and analytical thinking skills. The candidates were also sought for qualifications such as having a driver's license, not being travelling obstacles and completing military service.
