Noise is an environmental pollution that discomforts people and is unwanted in urban life. Out of environmental pollution such as water, air, soil and solid waste, noise pollution is not too important. In fact, noise causes many disorders in people, such as hearing loss, low performance, incapacity to pay attention, incapacity to focus, mental incapacity, sleep and imbalance. One of the places where the noise is formed is the surroundings of the schools. Specifically, with the scream of the bell, students go out to the school garden or go into the building to start the lesson, a heavy noise occurs during the game in the garden. This noise, however, reveals many psychological, physiological and physical diseases over time in people in homes and shops around the school. In this study, measurements were made in order to determine the level of noise around a primary school located in the Mudanya district of Bursa and the results were statistically interpreted. Measures were carried out at two points near the entrance door to the school garden and the school building, on Monday, Wednesday and Friday during weekly breathing for 5 minutes. Moreover, measurements were taken during the flag ceremonies on Monday and Friday for a 10-minute period. The results were compared with the limit values set out in the Environmental Noise Assessment and Management Regulation (CGDYY). According to the CGDYY, the current roads where the training areas are located should not exceed 65 dBA in day hours. The results obtained within this study have been shown to exceed the limit value given in the CGDYY, and various recommendations have been made to reduce noise in this area.

Additionally, measurements were taken during the 10-minute period during the flag ceremonies on monday and friday. The results were compared with the limit values given in the Regulation on the Assessment and Management of Environmental Noise (RAMEN). According to RAMEN, it is stated that the noise values should not exceed 65 dBA during the daytime on the existing roads where there are training areas. The results obtained within the scope of this study were observed to exceed the limit value given in the RAMEN, and various suggestions were made to reduce noise in this region.
