Bireylerin internet kullanım miktarının normalden, alışılagelmiş olandan veya planlanandan daha fazla olarak kullanılması problemli internet kullanımı olarak tanımlanmaktadır. Bu çalışmada problemli internet kullanımı olan ergenlerin internet kullanımları ile ilgili görüşlerinin ve duygularının incelenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Araştırmanın çalışma grubunu, İstanbul ilinde bulunan iki devlet lisesinde 9. sınıfta öğrenim görmekte olan 8 kız, 8 erkek olmak üzere toplam 16 öğrenci oluşturmuştur. Çalışma grubunu oluşturan öğrencilerle yapılan birebir görüşme sonucunda elde edilen verilerin derinlemesine analiz edilmesi ve temaların ortaya çıkarılması amacıyla içerik analizi yöntemi kullanılmıştır. Analiz sonucunda elde edilen bulgulardan, temalar (sosyalleşme, otokontrol, boş vakitleri değerlendirme gibi) oluşturularak incelenmiştir. Problemli internet kullanan ergenlerin, internet kullanımı esnasında çeşitli duygular yaşadıkları ve bu duyguları ifade etmede güçlük çektikleri sonucuna ulaşılmıştır. Elde edilen sonuçlar literatür eşliğinde tartışılıp çeşitli öneriler sunulmuştur.
Internet use of individuals is defined as problematic internet use if the amount of use is more than normal, usual or planned. This study aimed to examine the opinions and feelings of adolescents with problematic internet use regarding their internet use. The research group of the study consisted of 16 students, 8 girls and 8 boys, who were studying in the 9th class in two state high schools in Istanbul. The content analysis method was used to analyze the data obtained in the face-to-face interview made by the students and to reveal the themes. As a result of the analysis, the themes (socialization, self-control, leisure time activity, etc.) were examined from the obtained findings. It was concluded that adolescents with problematic internet use experienced various feelings during the use of the internet and had difficulty expressing these feelings. The obtained results were discussed in the light of the literature and various suggestions were presented.
