Abstract:

The aim of this study is to identify the relationship of people living in K.K.T.C. with childhood trauma and emotional regulation and psychopathology. The study group consists of 400 people aged 18 and older living in K.K.T.C. The study used sociodemographic form, childhood trauma inventory, emotion-regulating difficulties inventory, identity development inventory short symptoms inventory (KSE). A variety of findings have been found in the study. Childhood is associated with trauma, emotional regulation and psychopathology. According to the findings obtained from the study, the difficulty in emotional regulation alone shows that psychopathology is statistically meaningful and positive. When the difficulty of emotional regulation and childhood trauma are studied at the same time, the difficulty of emotional regulation and childhood trauma are determined to positively affect psychopathology. The results of the analyses found that the relationship between emotional difficulties and psychopathology is partly a means of childhood trauma. According to the results of our study, a positive and meaningful relationship between childhood trauma levels and difficulty in regulating emotions has been found. In a sense, it has been observed that the increased trauma in childhood is more difficult to organize emotions.
