Inflammatory papillary hyperplasia appears almost exclusively on the hard palate and almost always in association with a removable prosthesis. The precise cause of papillary hyperplasia is not well understood, although it appears to be associated with illfitting or loose dentures that create a potential space between the denture base and tissue, potentiating growth of C. albicans. The tissue hyperplasia occuns as a result of the low-level chronic trauma of field which fungal organisms had settled on. Its localization is usually on the palate dome but rarely is seen on crest or vestibule side. Presentation of the hyperplastic nodules are 3-4mm width, erythematous and cobblestone appearance. At the treatment surgical removal is indicated before a denture is recontructed for the patient. For the surgical removing curettage with round bur, electrosurgery, cryosurgery or laser ablation can be used. The aim of this report is to present a case of inflammatory papillary hyperplasia seen in a 61 years old man patient that treated by cryosurgery.

The aim of this report is to present a case of inflammatory papillary hyperplasia seen in a 61 year old man patient that was treated by cryosurgery. Inflammatory papillary hyperplasia is oral injury that occurs in patients using active prothesis and is observed in the form of the expansion of the hard spine mucus into small hyperplases. The etiology is not clearly understood, but it is estimated that the gap between the palatinal mucosa and the prothesis after malcompatibility of the prothesis and the potential settlement of C.albicans in this area is the result of the formation. As a result of exposure to a low level of chronic trauma in the area where the fungal organisms are located, tissue hyperplasia occurs. Localization is often observed in the shell, but it can rarely be observed on or in the vestibule. Hyperplastic nodes are 3-4 mm diameter, erythematic, in the appearance of a stone, growing in the form of red mushrooms. Before the production of new proteins in treatment, the hyperplasia tissue should be removed by surgery. This process can be done with the help of round frez using curetage, electro surgery, cryocerrahi or laser application. This article describes the treatment of the phenomenon of papillary hyperplasia observed in a 61-year-old male patient using the cryocerrahi method.
