TOPLUM RUH SAĞLIĞI MERKEZLERİNDEN HİZMET ALAN AĞIR RUHSAL HASTALIĞA SAHİP BİREYLERİN SOSYAL İŞLEVSELLİĞİNİN İNCELENMESİ

Abstract:

Bu çalışmanın amacı, Ankara ili örneğinde Toplum Ruh Sağlığı Merkezlerinden (TRSM) hizmet alan ağır ruhsal hastalığa sahip (ARHS) bireylerin sosyal işlevslelliklerini sosyodemografik özelikleri, hastalık süreci, TRSM’den hizmet alma süreci, damgalanma ve algıladıkları sosyal destek düzeyleri ile ilişkisi çerçevesinde incelemektir. Araştırmanın örneklemini, Ankara ilinde bulunan üç TRSM’den hizmet alan 138 ARHS birey oluşturmuştur. Çalışmada veri toplama aracı olarak araştırmacı tarafından hazırlanan Soru Formu, Kısa İşlevsellik Değerlendirme Ölçeği, Psikolojik Yardım Alma Nedeniyle Sosyal Damgalanma Ölçeği, Çok Boyutlu Algılanan Sosyal Destek Ölçeği kullanılmıştır. Tüm veriler araştırmacı tarafından yüzyüze görüşme yöntemiyle 15 Mayıs 2017- 15 Ağustos 2017 tarihleri arasında toplanmıştır. Çalışmanın bulgularına göre, orta düzeyde sosyal işlevselliğe sahip olan ARHS bireylerin cinsiyetleri, öğrenim durumları, gelir durumları, çalışma durumları, yaşam biçimleri, hastalık tanı süreleri, TRSM hizmetlerine dair memnuniyet düzeyleri, algıladıkları sosyal destek ve damgalanma ile sosyal işlevsellikleri arasında anlamlı ilişkiye rastlanmıştır. Bu çalışmanın sonuçlarının, TRSM’de çalışan sosyal hizmet uzmanlarının ARHS bireylerin sosyal işlevselliklerini geliştirmek üzere planlayacağı ve uygulayacağı müdahalelerde yol gösterici olacağı düşünülmektedir.

Abstract:

The aim of this study is to explore the social functionality of individuals with severe mental illness (ARHS) serving from the Community Mental Health Centers (TRSM) for example in Ankara, in the framework of their socio-demographic characteristics, disease process, the process of receiving service from TRSM, marking and the relationship with the social support levels they perceive. The sample of the study was made by 138 ARHS individuals who served from three TRSMs located in Ankara. As a data collection tool in the study; the researchers prepared the Question Form, the Short Functional Assessment Scale, the Social Damage Scale due to the Request of Psychological Aid, the Multi-Dimensional Detected Social Support Scale were used. All data was collected by the researcher by the face-to-face conversation method between 15 May 2017 and 15 August 2017. According to the findings of the study, ARHS individuals with a medium level of social functionality have found a meaningful relationship between gender, educational status, income status, working status, lifestyle, disease diagnosis times, satisfaction levels for TRSM services, social support and marking they perceive and social functionality. The results of this study are believed to be a guide in the interventions that social services professionals working at TRSM will plan and implement to improve the social functionality of ARHS individuals.

Abstract:

The aim of this study is to examine the social functioning and its correlation with the sociodemographic and clinical characteristics, process of receiving service from Community Mental Health Centers, perceived social stigma, social support of individuals with severe mental illness (SMI) who received service from CMHCs in the sample of Ankara. Study participants were recruited 138 individual with SMI from receiving service three CMHCs in Ankara. As data collection instruments, a question form prepared by the researcher, Functioning Assessment Short Test Stigma Scale for Receiving Psychological Help and Multi-Dimensional Perceived Social Support Scale was used. The data of the study were collected to the face-to-face interviews by the researcher between May 15 and August 15 in 2017. According to the findings of the study, there is a significant correlation was found among the genders, education, income of home, employment status, living situation, age of onset, satisfaction levels about community mental health center’s (CMHC) services, perceived social support and stigma and moderate social functioning of SMI. The results of this study are thought to be a guide in the interventions that social workers working in CMHC will plan and implement to improve the social functioning of individuals wtih SMI.
