İnsanların inançları, ahlâkî yapıları, hal ve hareketleri birbirinden farklılık arz etmektedir. Hayatta insanların bir kısmı iyi rolü bir kısmı ise kötü rolü oynamaktadır. Başka bir ifadeyle bazı insanlar hakkı, adaleti, iyiliği ortaya koymaya çalışırken bazıları ise tam tersine batılı, zulmü, kötülüğü tercih etmektedir. Ancak şu da bir gerçektir ki neyi tercih ederse etsin her insan, ölünceye kadar devam eden bir imtihan içerisindedir. Bu imtihan sürecinde iman ehli kimselerin imtihanı ile inkârcıların imtihanı bazen farklı şekillerde olabilmektedir. Mümtehine sûresi 5. âyette mü’minler hakkında kullanılan bir ifade bu hususta dikkat çekmektedir. Bu âyette mü’minlerin, “Rabbimiz! Bizi, inkâr edenler için bir fitne konusu yapma” şeklindeki ifadeleri, mü’minlerin inkârcılar için nasıl bir fitne aracı olacağına dair birtakım soruları akla getirmektedir. Bu çalışmamızda Mümtehine sûresi 5. âyette geçen bu ifadenin muhtemel manalarının tespitine ve tahliline yer verilmiş, sûrenin genel muhtevası ve diğer âyetlerle bağlantısı üzerinde durulmuştur. Mümtehine sûresi, muhtevası itibarıyla genel çerçevede bütün insanları, özelde ise mü’minleri alakadar etmektedir. Sûre, Yüce Allah’a ve mü’minlere duydukları kin ve nefreti, söylem ve eylemleri ile açıkça gösterenlere karşı mü’minlerin takınmaları gereken tavırlar hakkında ehemmiyeti haiz birtakım bilgiler içermektedir. Hayatı mü’mince yaşama hususunda Hz. İbrahim’i ve ona tabi olanları örnek olarak göstermektedir. Bu çalışmanın amacı, Mümtehine sûresinin inşa etmeyi hedeflediği ideal mü’minin niteliklerini ortaya koymak, sûrenin genel muhtevası ile 5. âyette verilmek istenen mesajın bağlantılarını tespit etmek, bu meyanda mü’minlerin inkârcılar için fitne konusu olmasının ne gibi manalara gelebileceğini ve bu âyet vesilesiyle mü’minlere verilmek istenen mesajları irdelemektir. Çalışmada, Mümtehine sûresinde yer alan her âyet, emir ve nehiyler bağlamında tazammun ettiği hususlarla birlikte ele alınmıştır. Sûrenin her âyeti ayrı ayrı izah edilerek 5. âyetle irtibatı tespit edilmeye çalışılmıştır. Bu çerçevede 5. âyette söz konusu edilen fitne kavramı üzerinde durulmuş, mü’minlerin hangi açılardan inkârcılar için fitne olabileceği hususu, çeşitli tefsirlerden istifade edilerek ortaya konmaya gayret edilmiştir. Mü’minlerin inkârcılar için fitne olması meselesi, muhtelif şekillerde izah edilmiştir. Bazı müfessirlerce mü’minlerin düşmanlara yenik düşmeleri, bizzat onların eliyle veya onlar vesilesiyle acı ve ıstıraplara duçar olmaları olarak yorumlanmıştır. Ayrıca mü’minlerin mağlubiyeti veya düştükleri kötü durumlar nedeniyle inkâr ehlinin, “mü’minlerin iddiası doğru olsaydı, itimat ettikleri Allah onları desteklerdi yahut bu kötü duruma maruz kalmazlardı” düşüncesine kapılıp kendilerini hakikat ve istikamet üzere görmeleri yani mü’minlerin kötü durumu sebebiyle yanılgıya düşmeleri şeklinde yorumlanmıştır. Bunun yanı sıra Yüce Allah’ın, mü’minlerin aleyhine inkârcılara daha fazla dünyevi imkân vermesi olarak da açıklanmıştır. Yapılan araştırma sonucunda, Mümtehine sûresinin ana temasının mü’minlerin Yüce Allah’ın emir, nehiy ve tavsiyelerine göre hareket ederek her türlü fitneden sakınmaları, bütün insanlara güzel örnek olmaları, yaşadıkları muhitlerde huzuru temin etmeleri olduğu, 5. âyetin de bu konularla bağlantılı olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Dolayısıyla mü’minlerin Müslüman olmayanlara, bilhassa inkârcılara bir fitne konusu olmaktan, kendilerinden beklenmeyen her türlü zarar ve kötülükten uzak durmaları gerekmektedir. Mü’minlerin, Yüce Allah’ın rızasını kazanmak için samimiyetle O’nun buyruklarına riayet etmeleri, bu konuda Hz. İbrahim’i ve ona tabi olanları, ayrıca Hz. Peygamber’i örnek almaları, bununla birlikte batıl yolda olanların hegemonyası altına girip onların hak üzere olduklarına dair yanıltıcı bir algı oluşturmamaları gerektiğine dikkat çekilmiştir. Bunun yanında sûrede işaret edilen Hudeybiye Barış Antlaşması sonrası toplumda kadının statüsü belirlenmiş, ona ait mehir, irade beyanı, karar verme gibi bazı hakları tescil edilmiştir. Muhacir mü’min kadınların Hz. Peygamber’e gelerek biat etmeleri, ona karşı gelmeyecekleri hususunda söz vermeleri, onların bahsedilen durumunu müşahhas hale getirmiştir.
People's beliefs, moral values, attitudes, and actions vary a lot. In life, some people assume the role of the bad, while others assume that of the good. In other words, while some people try to be on the side of the truth, justice, and goodness, some of them prefer falsehood, cruelty and evil. However, it is also a fact that every human being, no matter what he chooses, is put to a test that continues until he dies. During this test, the test faced by the people of faith and the one faced by deniers can sometimes be quite different. An expression intended for the believers in the fifth verse of the Sūra al-Mumtaḥina draws attention to this point. The statement of the believers in this verse, “Our Lord, do not make us a temptation to the ones who have disbelieved” raises several questions about how the believers could be an instrument of fitna for the disbelievers. This study provides an analysis of the possible meanings of this expression mentioned in the fifth verse of Sūra al- Mumtaḥina, and it stresses the overall focus of this sūra and its connection with other verses. In terms of its content, Sūra al-Mumtaḥina addresses all humanity in general and the believers in particular. The sūra contains some vital information about the attitude that the believers should adopt towards those who openly show their grudge and hatred against both Almighty Allāh and the believers with their rhetoric and actions. It cites Prophet Abraham (Ibrāhīm al-Khalīl) and his followers as an example in terms of leading a life as a believer. The aim of this study is to reveal the qualities of the ideal believer that Sūra al-Mumtaḥina aims to build, to determine the connections between the general content of the sūra and the message intended to be given in its fifth verse, along with examining the meanings of the believers’ being the subject of fitna for the unbelievers in this context, and the messages intended to be given to the believers in this verse. In the study, each verse in Sūra al-Mumtaḥina is discussed, together with the issues that it describes, in terms of orders and prohibitions. Each verse is explained individually and its connection with the fifth verse is discussed. The concept of fitna mentioned in the fifth verse is particularly emphasized, and the issue of how the believers can be fitna for the unbelievers is explained by using various tafsīrs. The issue of the believers’ being fitna for the deniers is explained in various ways. It is interpreted by some commentators as the fact that the believers succumb to enemies and that they are personally subjected to pain and suffering directly or indirectly by their hands. In addition, it is interpreted as the disbelievers’ mistakenly thinking, because of the believers' defeat or suffering, that "if the claim of the believers were true, the God they trust would support them or they would not be exposed to such suffering", and their seeing themselves truthful and in the true path; that is, the disbelievers’ being mistaken because of the believers' plight. In addition to this, it is also explained as Almighty Allāh's giving more worldly opportunities to the deniers compared to the believers. The present study revealed that the main theme of Sūra al-Mumtaḥana is that the believers avoid all kinds of mischief by acting according to the orders, prohibitions and recommendations of Almighty Allāh, set a good example to all people, and ensure peace in the neighborhoods they live in. It also revealed that the fifth verse is related to these issues. Therefore, the believers must, not only stay away from being a subject of fitna for non-Muslims, particularly for the disbelievers but also avoid all kinds of harm and evil that are not expected of them. It was pointed out that, to gain the approval of Almighty Allāh, the believers should sincerely obey His commands, follow the example of Prophet Abraham and those who followed him, as well as that of Prophet Muḥammad in this regard, but not fall under the hegemony of those who are on the path of falsehood but create a misleading perception that they follow the truth. In addition, after the Ḥudaybiyya Peace Treaty, which is mentioned in the sūra, the status of women in the society was determined, and some of their rights such as mahr, declaration of will, and decision-making were clarified. The fact that the muhājir women came to the Prophet, swore allegiance, and promised that they would obey him is a clear example of this.
