Abstract:

The obstacle is a complex and multi-dimensional fact. It is estimated that there are two hundred million people with mental disabilities worldwide. In Turkey there are 2.530.376 disabled persons. Individuals are more frequently exposing hazardous health behaviors depending on their condition of obstacle. Though disabled individuals need more health care to protect and improve their health, their access to the service is lower. Depending on the disease, the overall quality of life is lower and the average lifetime is also shorter. The development of health literature is one of the key strategies that can be applied to protect and improve the health of disabled individuals. The general purpose of this study is to study studies on health literature in light-level mental disabled individuals between the years 1990-2020. The research has been carried out within a total of 19 studies that meet the criteria determined on the basis of the karma method scan of literature. When the studies were studied, it was found that four studies were prepared in the experimental design, two studies in the imaginary design, and the others (n=12) in the theoretical discussion or compilation. Studies have studied the issues of self-management perception of individuals with mental disabilities, health development, health services and access to services, drug use and oral health. All of the studies included in this study on health literature prepared in mental disabled individuals include emphasis on access to service and the comprehensibility of information about health. The number of work aimed at strengthening the target groups in the decision-making process is quite limited. Based on the results of the study, a number of recommendations have been presented for the development of health literature for mental disabled individuals.
