To better prescribe a Resistance Training (TR) program for untrained individuals it is necessary to manipulate the variables TR specifically for this audience and understand their goals. Thus, it becomes possible to draw up a specific training program for these individuals, properly by manipulating the variables and prescribing exercises, according to their aspirations. The physiological adaptations to a TR program between untrained can occur in a short time. However, for these adaptations happen. the variable the TR used should be systematically controlled in order to produce beneficial effects. The correct handling of the variables TR (muscle actions, intensity, training volume, ordination exercises, rest period, overload principle and the principle of specificity) is an effective allied for the development of muscular strength and its maintenance. It also reduces the chances of injuries. The inclusion of TR in people's lives has proved a promising intervention for power gains, decrease body fat, improve physical performance in sports activities, and improve life quality, since the TR decreases the incidence of various chronic diseases. Thus, the present study analyzed the variables TR and the methods of application of these in untrained individuals.
