Abstract:

Uyghurs in Turkish language and culture corpus is period in which effective translation studies were carried out, an awakening in the field of science, technical, education, ideas and culture began, and the vocabulary of Turkish language was developed, enhanced and deepened by producing new concepts and terms with the possibilities brought by the structure of the Turkish language. On the vocabulary of this period, different spellings of the verb in the form kodtur- ~ koddur- ~ kodur- ~ kotur- used in meaning of to copy, which is related to writing, literature, book, library, printing tecniques, were evaluated according to the linguistic criteria of Old Uyghur Turkish, and phone change in the verb was explained in terms of morphophnetics, taking into account the structure and function of the affix. Which of co-spelled verbs kod- “to give up, to release” ve kud- “to pour out, to evacuate” could be the mentioned verb was evaluated according to semantic criteria with the diachronic comparative method, taking into account the “contamination” between them. In this context, it has been tried to describe the deep structure and logic of the cognitive map operated in Turkish language, despite the change in the vocabulary of the different setting and period, by comparing it with the verbs köçür- and yul-, which means “to copy” in Dîvânu Lugâti’t-Türk and the richness of Old Turkish in producing corresponding concepts and the breadth of its vocabulary are shown.
