Abstract:

Bu araştırmada, okul yöneticilerinin okul yöneticiliği mesleğine ilişkin algılarının ortaya çıkarılması amaçlanmıştır. Bu amaçla okul yöneticilerinin meslek tercih gerekçeleri, mesleki yetkinlik algıları, mesleki yetkinlik kaynakları, mesleki gelişim etkinliklerine katılım durumları, mesleki memnuniyet algıları ve mesleki üretkenlikleri incelenmiştir. Bu amacı gerçekleştirmek için tarama modelinde bir alan araştırması yapılmıştır. Araştırmacılar tarafından geliştirilen 56 maddelik likert tipi anket 324 okul yöneticisine uygulanmıştır. Araştırma sonuçlarına göre okul yöneticilerinin mesleği en fazla topluma katkı fırsatı vermesi sebebiyle tercih ettikleri, en fazla iletişim konusunda kendilerini yetkin gördükleri, en fazla meslektaşlarından destek alarak mesleki yetkinliklerini artırdıkları, mesleki gelişimle ilgili en fazla kitap okuma etkinliğini gerçekleştirdikleri, mesleki memnuniyetlerinin orta düzeyde olduğu ve mesleki üretkenlik bakımından zayıf oldukları sonucuna ulaşılmıştır. Bu sonuçlar dikkate alındığında okul yöneticilerinin okul yöneticiliği mesleğine ilişkin algılarının olumlu olduğu ancak yeterince güçlü olmadığı değerlendirilmiştir. Elde edilen bulgulara ve ulaşılan sonuçlara bağlı olarak uygulamacılara ve araştırmacılara önerilerde bulunulmuştur.

Abstract:

This study aims to reveal the perceptions of school managers about the school management profession. For this purpose, school managers have studied the reasons for their career preference, the perceptions of professional competence, the resources of professional competence, the conditions of participation in professional development activities, the perceptions of professional satisfaction and the professional productivity. A field research has been done in the scanning model to this goal. Researchers developed 56 material liquid type survey applied to 324 school managers. The research finds that school managers prefer the profession because they give the most opportunity to contribute to society, they find themselves able to communicate most, they increase their professional skills by receiving the most support from their colleagues, they realize the most book reading effectiveness related to professional development, their professional satisfaction is medium and they are weak in terms of professional productivity. Having these findings taken into account, it was assessed that the perceptions of school managers about the school management profession were positive but not strong enough. Based on the findings and the achieved results, recommendations were given to practitioners and researchers.

In this study, it is aimed to reveal the perceptions of school administrators about the school administration profession. For this purpose, reasons for choosing a profession, perceptions of professional self-efficacy, sources of professional competence, participation in professional development activities, perceptions of professional satisfaction and professional productivity of school administrators were examined. In order to achieve this aim, a field study was conducted in the descriptive model. A 56-item Likert-type questionnaire developed by the researchers was applied to 324 school administrators. According to the research results; school administrators prefer the profession because it gives the opportunity to contribute to the society the most, and they see themselves as competent in communication the most; It was concluded that they increased their professional competence by getting support from their colleagues at most, they performed the most book reading activities related to professional development, their professional satisfaction was moderate and they were weak in terms of professional productivity. Considering these results, it was evaluated that the perceptions of school administrators about the school administration profession were positive but not very strong. Suggestions were made to practitioners and researchers depending on the findings and the results achieved.
