Abstract:

In 1730, an uprising called the Patrona Revolt emerged in the Ottoman Empire and ended the Tulip Era, representing fun and glitz. Rebels dethroned, the sultan of the era, Ahmed III and killed the grand vizier İbrahim Pasha, who was in power for a long time. Afterward, for two months, they established a tyrant over the sultan Mahmud I and the grand vizier, whom they enthroned. They demolished the previously built mansions, which they regarded as a sign of delight and delight, and removed the administrative practices they did not like. There is a short manuscript in Diyarbakır Ziya Gökalp Manuscript Library, which tells about this revolt and the developments after it, day by day. This manuscript was recorded in the library catalog under the name Patrona Halil İsyanı. The work differs from other sources regarding the case in terms of depicting the rebellion in a very lively and plain language and evaluating the rebels with a different perspective. In this article, the Ottoman text of the work named Patrona Halil İsyanı was transcribed. However, an opinion was expressed on which may be the author or base of the work, and some comparisons were made in terms of content, taking into account other works related to the revolt.
