Abstract:

The purpose of this research is to measure the perceptions of self-quality of educational software development of the students of the department that remain outside of Computer and Teaching Technologies Education and are mainly taking computer programming courses. In accordance with this goal, 372 students who studied at three different state universities in the 2018-2019 educational year have been achieved. For the collection of data, the "Education Software Development Self-Capacity Perception Scale" developed by Aşkar and Dönmez (2004) was used. According to the research findings, students find themselves insufficient for the project management and teaching design phase in the educational software development phase, while they find themselves insufficient in the animation design, audio and video unit phase. In addition to this, the perception of self-capacity of educational software development is determined that male students according to the gender variable, software engineering students according to the department they study, significant differences in favor of third-class students according to the class level they study. It is also determined that students previously engaged in the educational software development phase consider themselves more adequate in all stages of the scale than students who did not engaged. According to the research results, in the departments that provide programming-focused training, activities that will allow students to participate actively in the software development processes may be recommended.
