TÜRK KÜLTÜRÜNDEKİ NAR SEMBOLÜNÜN FİGÜR FORM İLİŞKİSİ BAĞLAMINDA SERAMİK SANATINA UYARLANMASI

Abstract:

Nar bitkisinin insanlık tarihindeki sayısız faydaları düşünüldüğünde, gerek fiziksel özelliklerinden dolayı gerekse sembolik anlamları bakımından antikçağlardan günümüz kültürleri ile din ve inanışlarında son derece önemli yer tuttuğu görülmektedir. Tarihsel süreçte nar bitkisinin sembolik anlamları araştırıldığında, diğer kültürlerde olduğu gibi kültür tarihimizde de oldukça zengin bezeme ve figür uygulamaları ile karşılaşılmaktadır. Türk sanatında tılsımlı ve koruyucu yönlerinin yanı sıra güzellik, bereket, doğum, nazar ve ölümsüzle özdeşleştirilmiş bu figüre ait anlatımlarda aynı zamanda hayat/bilgi ağacı olarak ta yer verilmektedir. Bu çerçevede genel olarak kültür tarihimiz incelenmiştir. Böylelikle geleneklerimizden masallara, mitlerden ninnilere, halk inanışlarından türkülere, mimariden sosyal yaşama değin sanatta geniş olarak yer verilen nar bitkisine ait sembollerin seramik sanatında figür ve form ilişkisine bağlı olarak yerli ve yabancı pek çok sanatçının yapıtlarına esin kaynağı olduğu, sevilen bir öğe olarak yaygın bir biçimde kullanıldığı tespit edilmiştir.  Nar bitkisinin, mitolojik hikâyelerinden ve ikonografik anlatımlarından yola çıkılarak kültürümüzdeki sembolik anlamlarına ve bu sembollerin sanattaki yansımalarının nasıl olduğuna yer verilen bu çalışma ile bu figürün Türk Kültürüne nasıl yansıdığı açıklanarak sanatçılara ilham veren yönleri ile ele alınmıştır. Araştırma konusunda hedeflenen ve elde edilen bulgular ışığında nar bitkisine ait sembolik anlatımlar araştırmacının seramik sanatındaki yeni tasarımlarına figür form ilişkisi bağlamında özgün ve çağdaş yorumlarla farklı bir bakış açısı ile sunulmuştur.

When considering the innumerable benefits of the nar plant in human history, it appears that it has held an extremely important place in the modern cultures and religions from ancient times, in terms of its physical characteristics or symbolic meanings. When we explore the symbolic meanings of the nar plant in the historical process, as in other cultures, it is also encountered with quite rich grinding and figure practices in our cultural history. In the Turkish art, in addition to its distinctive and protective aspects, as well as in the narratives of this figure identified with beauty, blessing, birth, nazar and immortality, it is also included as the tree of life/information. In this context, our cultural history has been studied. Thus, from our traditions to tales, from myths to nins, from popular beliefs to Turks, from architecture to social life, the symbols of the nar plant widely placed in the art have been found to be a source of inspiration for the works of many indigenous and foreign artists, depending on the relationship of figure and shape in the ceramic art.  From the mythological stories and iconographic narratives of the Nar plant, the symbolic meanings of our culture and how these symbols are reflected in art, this work has been addressed with the aspects that inspire the artists, explaining how this figure reflects the Turkish culture. In light of the findings targeted and obtained on the research, the symbolic stories of the nar plant are presented with a different perspective of the original and contemporary comments in the context of the figure form relationship to the new designs of the researcher's ceramic art.

Abstract:

Considering its numerous benefits in the history of humanity, the pomegranate plant has been an extremely important figure in different cultures, beliefs and religions from ancient times to the present due to its both physical characteristics and symbolic meanings. When evaluated from an artistic point of view, the pomegranate figure, which is primarily seen as a herbal ornament, appears in rich expressions when its symbolic meanings are investigated in our cultural history, similar to other cultures. In addition to its talismanic and protective aspects, this figure, which is associated with beauty, fertility, birth and immortality, is also considered as a tree of life or tree of wisdom in some sources. In this context, when our cultural history is examined in general, this figure, which is widely discussed in art from traditions to tales, from myths to lullabies, from folk beliefs to folk songs, from architecture to social life, is a source of inspiration for various interpretations of all local and foreign artists in the art of ceramics, and is widely used as a popular item. In this study, which aims to include the symbolic meanings of the pomegranate plant in our culture and how it is reflected in art, based on its mythological stories and iconographic expressions. How this figure is reflected in Turkish Culture will also be examined and will be discussed with its inspiring aspects to the artists. The findings of this study will be applied to the researcher's new designs in ceramic art with original and contemporary interpretations in the context of figure-form relationship.
