Abstract:

In this study, it is aimed at highlighting the importance of water pricing in sustainable water management in municipalities. The Merzifon district examples of the price of water were made within the relevant application. The water unit price has been determined taking into account management and operating costs, amortisations, unactivated renewal, refining and tobacco costs and the profitability rate. The total system cost for the management of waste water collection service is calculated by the price of waste water. The water unit m3 price was 1,86 TL for 2017 and 2,08 TL for 2018. The price of waste water unit m3 for 2018 is 1.67 TL. According to the results of the evaluation, in addition to the priceing of water and waste water, it has been found that the amortisments relating to the sub-structure assets for sustainable management of water and waste water services in the following years should be used in renewal programs by holding a special account.

Abstract:

The pricing of water on the case of Merzifon district was made within the scope of the relevant application. Water unit price is determined by considering management and operating expenses, depreciation, non-capitalized renewal, improvement and extension costs and profitability ratio. The total system cost was calculated for the management of wastewater collection service and the waste water was priced. The unit price of water was 1.86 TL per unit m³ for 2017 and 2.08 TL for 2018. The price of waste water unit m³ was determined as 1,67 TL for 2018. According to the results of the evaluation, it has been determined that the depreciation of infrastructure assets should be used in renewal programs in order to manage the water and wastewater pricing as well as the sustainable management of water and wastewater services in the following years.
