Abstract:

The ability of investors to make the right decisions among their investment choices and to reach the expected financial success level is closely related to the measurement of the financial performance of companies. Tobin Q, which is widely used in financial performance measurement, is accepted as an indicator of the future performance of companies. In this study, in which the Tobin Q values were calculated using the 2012-2019 data of seven companies in the Paper and Paper Products Industry sector traded within Borsa Istanbul, evaluations were made depending on the changes that occurred at year level and investors were given the opportunity to make the right decision. As a result of the study, it was determined that the average Tobin Q values of four companies in the Paper and Paper Products industry sector were above 1. In addition, it has been determined that the sector has a significant financial success in terms of average values for the years 2012-2019. At the end of the study, it was emphasized that making an investment choice in the field of Paper and Paper Products Industry would be the right decision.
