Bu çalışma, okul takımlarında faaliyet gösteren sporcu öğrencilerin step aktivitesine katılım motivleri, beklentileri ve karşılaştıkları problemlerin tespit edilmesi amacı ile yapılmıştır. Araştırma da nitel araştırma yöntem ve teknikleri kullanılmıştır. Araştırmanın katılımcıları Abant İzzet Baysal Üniversitesi Step Aerobik takımında yer alan 5 bayan ve 3 erkek sporcudan oluşmaktadır. Araştırma verileri, katılımcılara uygulanan “görüşme” ve “günlük tutma” metodu kullanılarak toplanmıştır. Verilerin analizinde içerik analiz çözümleme yöntemi kullanılmıştır. Betimsel analiz ile özetlenen ve yorumlanan veriler, kodlanarak temalar bulunmuştur. Analizler sonucunda katılımcıların sportif aktivitelere katılım motivleri Yönlendirme, Sosyalleşme, Sosyalleşme ve güven, bu aktivitelerden beklenti olarak otokrat ve demokrat yönetim ve başarılı olma isteği, karşılaşılan problemler olarak ise yetersiz planlama, bıkkınlık, ulaşım problemi, yetersiz tesis ve olanaklar ile yarışma güvenirliğinin olmayışı gibi temalar bulunmuştur. Bu sonuçlar ilgili araştırmaların sonuçları ile karşılaştırılarak tartışılmıştır.
The purpose of this study was to determine expectations, problems and motivation to participate aerobics activity of the students participating university teams. Qualitative Methods were used in this study. Participants of the study were 5 female and 3 male voluntary athletes from the members of the Abant Izzet Baysal University’s Aerobics team. The data were collected to use the methods of interview, observation and dairy. In order to analyze the data, content analyze method was used and themes were constructed by coding analyzed data. The results of the analyses revealed that for athletes’ motivation to participate sports activities; guidance, socialization, and confidence, for expectation; democrat and autocrat management style and expectation of success, for the problems faced with the athletes; inadequate planning, facilities, burn-out, availability problems of the facilities, and not to have competition reliability like themes were found. The results of this study were compared and discussed with the other related studies.
