INTRODUCTION: The present study aims to determine the views that is about sexual education of the disabled people of the staff who work special education and rehabilitative services. METHODS: A cross-sectional study was undertaken among 133 staff in different special education and rehabilitative services in Istanbul and Balıkesir. RESULTS: Its been indicated that 36% of participants are in between 24-29 ages and most of the participants are women (77%). Most of the staff, 117 people (88%) who works in rehabilitation center is graduated from university/college, 53% of them reported that they have been working for 5 years. Sixty percent of participants provides education and care to disabled people. When we asked that who should disabled people get information about sexuality, 62% of them answered “from their family”. They expressed that physical and emotional changes in adolescence should be taught in sexual education (n=113, 85%). Fifty of them (38%) answered “i agree” to the following question: “ isabled people should take sexual education and reproductibility knowledge according to their understanding”. Fifty one of them (38%) answered “I agree” to “I can provide sexual education to disabled persons if I can have an in-service education” suggestion. When we asked their thoughts about disabled people’s sexuality most of them reported that they should get information from school, family and health professionals. DISCUSSION AND CONCLUSION: The staff also works with special education and rehabilitation centers, mental and physical disabilities should be given when referring to sexual education has been seen only able to respond to half of the questions about sexual health disabilities. The employees who is working special education and rehabilitation centers supported with in-service education is important on the sexual health education.
