Organisational citizenship behaviour (OCB) contributes significantly to an organisation’s performance. The success rate of OCB will be higher when OCB is embedded in the culture of an organisation rather than seen as individual initiatives. The study highlights professional learning communities as a collaborative effort and effective strategy to enhance OCB. The data used in this study comprised the responses obtained from 363 Malaysian polytechnic academic staff from 27 polytechnics. The results indicated that professional learning communities have a significant positive impact on OCB. Collective learning has also been found to have the highest influence on OCB compared with the other dimensions. The results of this study will provide insights into the influence of professional learning communities on OCB based on reviews of literature.
