Khanate of Qasim was a Turco-Tatar state, which was established by Moscow, in the middle of the Russian territory. The khanate, which was established by Kasım, the son of the Kazan Khan Olug Muxammat, survived for 236 years and developed close relationships with the Moscow Principality. Like all Turco-Tatar Khanates, which were the heirs of Genghis Khan, Khanate of Qasim inherited its diplomatic conventions and state organization from Golden Horde State. Yet the Turco-Tatar State’s close relationships with the Moscow Principality, though limited, influenced the formation of political institutions In the Khanate of Qasim, which was positioned on the intersection point of the important commercial routes, the economic activity, also, had a dynamic nature. The most important mainstay of the Khanate was stockbreeding. Besides, various professions catered the needs of the Turco-Tatar and the Russian community.
