Bu araştırmada Türkiye’de ve 26 alt bölgede dış ticaret ve turizmin iktisadi kalkınma ile uzun dönem ilişkisinin ne olduğu incelenmiştir. Bu amaç doğrultusunda, 26 alt bölgeye gelen toplam turist sayısı ve bu bölgelerin net ihracat düzeyi ile ekonomik büyümeleri arasındaki ekonometrik ilişki Kao (1999), Pedroni (1999, 2004) ve Johansen-Fisher Eşbütünleşme testleriyle analiz edilmiştir. Sonuçlar, uzun dönemde turizm ve dış ticaret, ekonomik kalkınma arasında eşbütünleşme ilişkisi olduğunu göstermiştir. PMG-ARDL testi bulgularına göre, uzun dönemde gelen turist sayısıyla ekonomik kalkınma arasında pozitif yönlü ve istatistiki olarak anlamlı bir ilişki vardır. Başka bir ifadeyle, Türkiye’de 26 alt bölgedeki turizm faaliyetleri genel anlamda yerel kalkınmayı olumlu etkilemiş ve bu bölgelerin diğer gelişmiş bölgeler arasındaki sosyo-ekonomik açığın kapatılmasına katkı sağlamıştır. Panel kantil regresyon analizleri sonucuna göre ise bütün kantillerde gelen turist sayısı ekonomik büyümeyi olumlu etkilerken, net dış ticaret hacmi olumsuz yönde etkilemektedir.
This study has studied the long-term relationship between foreign trade and tourism in Turkey and 26 sub-regions. In line with this goal, the total number of tourists from 26 subregions and the econometric relationship between the net export level and economic growth of these regions were analyzed by the Kao (1999), Pedroni (1999, 2004) and Johansen-Fisher Integration Tests. The results have shown that in the long term tourism and foreign trade have been an integration relationship between economic development. According to the results of the PMG-ARDL test, there is a positive and statistically meaningful relationship between the number of tourists coming in the long term and economic development. In other words, tourism activities in Turkey’s 26 subregions have had a positive impact on local development in general and have contributed to the closure of the socio-economic gap between other developed regions. According to the Panel Cantil Regression Analysis, the number of tourists in all cantins has a positive impact on economic growth, while the net volume of foreign trade has a negative impact on the economy.
