Abstract:

The Society of Journalists and the Faculty of Business of the University of Istanbul held a three-day conference in 1983, which was declared the Communication Year, discussing the events of communication and the problems of the Turkish press. The conference, in which important names and academics from the press field participated, discussed the various issues in the press and communication field. Presentations were made on topics such as approaches in the press management, marketing models, technological developments and distribution issues. and do. Dr. Ismail Kaya, with the title "Distribution, Problems and Opportunities in Turkish Press - Academic Approach" and Yekta Okur, with the title "Distribution in Turkish Press - Approach", assessed the distribution problems of the press of the period. The spread of Internet technologies, the development and transformation of the country’s substructure, have made positive or negative contributions to today’s distribution problems. The lack of the number of scientific publications on issues in the field of distribution makes this article important. In this study, today’s distribution issues were compared with the distribution issues discussed in the 1983 conference and evaluated by interviews with people from the industry. Over the past four decades, positive developments have occurred in the point of distribution of newspapers and magazines. The distribution of the network is one of the negatives that are faced in the area. Despite the negative unification, both the protection of the laws and the advancement of the distribution companies at the technological level have been positively reflected in the newspapers, magazines and readers.
