Bu araştırmanın temel amacı, okul öncesi öğretmenlerinin fen okuryazarlık düzeyleri ve fen öğretimine yönelik tutumlarını belirlemek ve fen okuryazarlık düzeyleri ile fen öğretimine yönelik tutumları arasında bir ilişki olup olmadığını tespit etmektir. Araştırma, genel tarama modellerinden tekil ve ilişkisel tarama modelleri kullanılarak gerçekleştirilmiştir. Araştırmanın çalışma grubunu, 2019-2020 yılı güz döneminde Kırşehir ili merkezinde görev yapan 100 okul öncesi öğretmeni oluşturmaktadır. Araştırmada veri toplama aracı olarak “Evrensel Fen Okuryazarlık Ölçeği” ile “Okul Öncesi Öğretmenleri İçin Fen Öğretimine Yönelik Tutum Ölçeği” kullanılmıştır. Araştırma sonucunda, okul öncesi öğretmenlerinin fen okuryazarlık düzeylerinin yüksek olduğu ve fen öğretimine yönelik tutumlarının olumlu olduğu belirlenmiştir. Okul öncesi öğretmenlerinin fen öğretimine yönelik tutumları çalışılan kurum türüne göre anlamlı farklılık gösterirken mesleki deneyime göre ise anlamlı farklılık göstermemektedir. Okul öncesi öğretmenlerinin fen okuryazarlık düzeyleri ise hem çalışılan kurum türü hem de mesleki deneyim değişkenlerine göre anlamlı farklılık göstermektedir. Ayrıca okul öncesi öğretmenlerinin fen okuryazarlık düzeyleri ve fen öğretimine yönelik tutumları arasında pozitif orta derecede anlamlı bir ilişki bulunmaktadır.
The main purpose of this study is to determine the preschool teachers' science literacy levels and their attitudes towards science teaching and to determine whether there is a relationship between their science literacy levels and their attitudes towards science teaching. The research was carried out using singular and relational survey models, which are among the general survey models. In the fall semester of 2019-2020, the participants of the research consists of 100 preschool teachers working in the city center in Kırşehir. In the research, “The Universal Science Literacy Scale” and “The Attitude Scale towards Science Teaching for Preschool Teachers” were used as data collection tools. As a result of the research, it was found that preschool teachers' levels of science literacy is high and their attitudes towards science teaching is positive. While the attitudes of preschool teachers towards science teaching differ significantly according to the type of institution; does not differ significantly according to professional experience. The science literacy levels of preschool teachers differ significantly according to both the type of institution and professional experience variables. In addition, there is a positive moderately significant relationship between teachers' science literacy levels and their attitudes towards science teaching
