Abstract:

The Austro-Hungarian Empire played a direct and indirect role in the events that would bring the end of the Ottoman Empire with its foreign policy in the years just before the First World War (1908-1914). Its representatives in various positions also forced the Ottoman government to deal with internal issues. In this study, examples of which internal issues were experienced in which the representatives of the Austro-Hungarian Empire were involved, how precautions were taken against them, and what was done to prevent them were presented. The main sources of this historical research based on document analysis are Ottoman archival documents. In addition, Austrian newspapers (Das Vaterland, Kikeriki, München Allgemeine Zeitung, Neues Wiener Journal, Neues Wiener Tagblatt, Reichspost, Wiener Montags Journal) which are the subject of archival documents and can be accessed, are also included in the study. In this respect, the study is important in terms of shedding light on the internal issues caused by Austria, which took place in the Ottoman lands between 1908-1914 and reflected in the Ottoman archive documents.
