The purpose of this study is to learn the opinions of prospective physics teachers on distance education. For this purpose, 35 volunteer prospective teachers who were studying in a state university physics teaching program participated in the study. An open-ended questionnaire consisting of ten questions along with demographic questions was sent to prospective teachers. The responses were analyzed with the help of content analysis. According to the results obtained, it is among the advantages of distance education that it is independent of time and space, it has the opportunity to repeat, it is easy to understand verbal lessons and it allows the individual to learn at his own pace. Being unable to communicate instantly, difficulty in understanding numerical / abstract / applied / detailed topics, inequality between opportunities, internet connection, inability to manage time and focus, are also disadvantages of distance education. The preservice teachers stated that they follow the (numerical) lessons they have difficulty in understanding during the distance education and that the education lessons are more suitable for distance education because it is verbal. In line with the opinions of teacher candidates, supporting the lessons to be taught in distance education by video and having a system where teachers and students can communicate will enable lessons to be taught more efficiently.
