Abstract:

Those who are trained at a professional level of higher education must learn the requirements of the profession in theoretical and practical way before they are placed in the profession. Those who receive the training in the tourist guidance profession also acquire theoretical knowledge within the course they receive during their higher education, and practice in the stage period. The aim of the internship practices is to convert the theoretical knowledge obtained by students in higher education institutions into practice. The aim of this study is to identify the similarities and differences and to study the conformity with the requirements of the tourist guidance profession by addressing the internship policies they have applied by the universities that provide tourist guidance degree in Turkey. For this research, the quality research methods have been used by the content analysis technique. In Turkey, 3 of the foundations that accept students in the 2018-2019 educational teaching period and are included in the ÖSYM preference guide, 29 in the state university, including 32 tourism guidance bachelor’s program’s internship regulations have been studied within the framework of the research. The regulations; the type of university (state / foundation), the institution to which the program is affiliated (faculty and high school), whether or not the internship obligation, whether or not the internship exemption, the internship period, the internship period, the internship places and, if there is, the tourist guidance program specific details have been evaluated by addressing the titles. The research finds that internship regulations differ according to the university to which the faculty and high school are affiliated, there is no internship regulations specific to the tourist guidance departments, the majority of internship regulations are generally comprehensive in the university, there are no compulsory practices covering the requirements of the tourist guidance profession. The tourism guidance department has found that there is only a difference in the place where the stages should be done in the stages that students should do, but this also does not cover the obligation to practice towards the profession.
