Abstract:

In this study, the aim is to determine the influence of Visual Arts Education, which is given by the STEAM approach applications, based on the integration of the arts into the disciplines of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics, on the views on the disciplines that make up this approach. The work carried out in a state school related to the central district of a province in the Western Black Sea during the spring period of the 2017-2018 academic year took 6 weeks within the framework of the Visual Arts course. The quality of the research is modeled with the research, the study of the situation has been carried out in the context of the situation study. Working Group 6. There are 25 students studying in the class. The work data is collected by semi-configured conversations before and after application, and the semi-configured conversation form data is analyzed by content analysis. Based on the research findings, considering their views on pre- and post-application STEAM and STEAM disciplines, the pre-processal students’ knowledge of STEAM and STEAM disciplines was not sufficient with activities based on the STEAM approach. After the application, the participants were in deeper expressions towards the disciplines of Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics; they were talking about the integration of the disciplines of Art-Fen-Engineering; they were determined to have comprehensive views on the art. One of the important findings is the determination of a positive view of the development/changing of art. In light of the findings, the application has been found to have a helpful effect on the development of views on the STEAM disciplines. Recommendations have been presented to researchers and programmakers to clarify the framework of STEAM and enrich the application samples.
