Abstract:

With the rapidly evolving technology, television broadcasting continues to develop and transform. One of the main features of television broadcasting is live broadcasting. Being there at that moment and witnessing events is an important element that increases the viewability of television. Since the day it was discovered, it has been able to keep its broadcasting from land as a television infrastructure that aims to instantly transmit what happens from one corner of the world to the other in the 1980s through the satellite and then on the ground digital over the last decade through the internet. Broadcasting through the Internet has soon opened new horizons in the field of television broadcasting. As Van Dijk defined, the digitalization of the media has gradually integrated data and public communication between the phone, computer, radio and television. In the end, the 5G live broadcasts have made it possible to be viewed from all the screens, including TV. In the framework of the study, the process of development and transformation of television broadcasts and broadcasts made with 5G, which is the final stage of this transformation, are discussed. Sports matches, especially football matches, are also leading to 5G broadcasts as the area where the broadcasts are most performed. In Turkey on 1 February 2020, live TV broadcast with 5G was tested for the first time with transmission before the Trabzonspor - Fenerbahçe football match. This 5G publishing forms a sample of the work with the typical state sample method, which is a quality research method. In the context of the technological transformation of television broadcasting, the use of 5G in television broadcasting is expected to pass to a higher capacity and faster broadcasting with less staff and cost.
