Abstract:

In this study, the problems of professional accountants and their expectations for the solution of these problems were investigated. For this, the case study, which is one of the qualitative research methods and qualitative research designs, was used. The data were collected through face-to-face interviews with five Certified Public Accountants who actually practice their profession in Malatya. In the interviews, it was tried to determine the problems between the members of the profession and educational institutions, the legislator, professional organizations, colleagues and taxpayers. According to the data obtained from the interviews, the prominent problems of the members of the profession; The inability of educational institutions to provide adequate vocational training, frequent tax amnesties, problems with the wages of professionals, the high number of professionals, problems experienced in the implementation of newly enacted laws, unfair competition among professionals, damage to the reputation of the profession can be counted. In the last part of the research, solutions for the prominent problems related to the accounting profession are presented in detail in the conclusion part.
