Abstract:

In this study, the effects of leaf removal and topping applications at different times on the berry properties of cv. Michelle Palieri grafted on 110R rootstock were evaluated. This research was conducted on to the 10 years old grapevines in the village of Karaevli in Tekirdag, Thrace Region in 2018-2019 and 2019-2020. There were three different application periods [Berry Set (BS), Bunch Closure (BC), Veraison (V)] and four different applications [Control (C), No Leaf Removal-Topping (NLR-T), Leaf Removal-No Topping (LR-NT), Leaf Removal-Topping (LR-T)] in the research. Berry characteristics (width-lenght, fresh-dry weight, volume, density) and yield characteristics were determined. In the terms of berry characteristics and yield characteristics LR-T application provided the desired properties in addition to the Bunch Closure and Veraison period. As a result in order to high quality grape berry in cv. Michele Palieri as an LR-T application in BC and V periods can be proposed.
