This study reviews the relationships, interactions, causes and effects of the dialogue between arts, artists, and politics, in the past as well as the present. How was the artist affected by this dialogue, and what was reflected on each art through this process. Since the dawn of societies, the civilizations were shaped by a wide range of factors and events. Yet, the forms of government had often destructive, bitter, troubling consequences on humanity. A look at the process of change reveals that politics has always been an integral part of social life, shaping economics, culture, education, arts, religion, and language, exhibiting direct or indirect influence on all these aspects of life. Governments and administrations had imposed restrictions, censorship, obstructions, ban and/or visible support and protection on artists, depending on the latter's perceived acceptability to the former. Doing so allowed the governments to keep the arts and artists close, and under control. They chose to exhibit what they wanted, and communicate the required states and messages, through the arts. The artists, in their turn, often were able to find some solution or escape rath
