Sufiler Kur’an’ı tefsir ederlerken geliştirdikleri birtakım te’vil (yorum) nazariyelerine göre hareket etmişlerdir. Bu yorum genellikle zahiri anlamdan batini anlama doğru bir seyir izleyebilmektedir. Kelimelerin delalet ettiği manalardan hareketle batini anlamlar üretebildikleri gibi bazen nassın anlamlarını genişletmiş, bazen de inhisarcı davranarak anlamı daraltmışlardır. Sufilerin, kelimelerin gerçek anlamlarından yan anlamlara veya mecazi anlamlara evrilen yorumları, aslında kapalı olan hususları aydınlatmak için yapıldığı söylenebilir. Bu yönleriyle kendilerine has bir dil oluşturdukları, bunu anlamanın ve sağaltımını yapmanın imkanının beyani tevil kıstasından geçirilmesiyle mümkün olduğu söylenebilir. Sufi tefsirde cennet ve cehennemle ilgili yapılan yorumlar buna örnek verilebilir. Zira müşahede ve mükaşefe yolculuğunun sonunda ulaşılacak münteha, bu metaforlar üzerinden verilebilmektedir. Makalede sufi yorumda cennet ve cehenneme dair yapılan yorumlara, bunların uğradıkları anlam genişlemesine yer verilerek sufilerin Kur’an’ı nasıl anlamaya çalıştıkları ele alınacaktır.
