Abstract:

This research is a quality study in the model of the study of the teachers in order to identify the activities they do in order to acquire the skills included in the social information curriculum and the problems they experience in the implementation of the program. The research was conducted in the 2019-2020 educational year, with 44 teachers working in schools in the Army Union District (first, independent-united class primary school) and participating voluntarily in the research (31 independent classes, 13 united classes). The research has used easy-to-accessful sample methods for the purposes of the study. The research included teachers working in different schools (independent and united classes) and in different conditions (city and city centers). For the purpose of collecting data from teachers, a semi-configured interview form developed by the researcher was used. In the analysis of data, content analysis was used. The research found that there were not sufficient explanations and examples of activity on the provision of skills in the social information teaching program (digital literature, financial literature, entrepreneurship, legal literature, political literature and position analysis), that it was abstract for children in this age group, that the time spent in the course for the program was not sufficient, that there were problems with the supply of materials and that teachers were not sufficient to provide these skills.
