This descriptive, analytic and cross-sectional study was done for the purpose of examining the level of the self-esteem and child development attitudes of nurses who work on pediatric units. The study was carried out at Ege University Research and Teaching Hospital, Health Ministry Dr. Behçet Uz Pediatric Teaching and Research Hospital, and Social Insurance Institution Tepecik Teaching Hospital Pediatric Units and Clinics. The research was done 98 nurses who had a child and had worked at least 6 months on one of the pediatric units in the three hospitals. In the study data collection was done using the Descriptive Information Form For Nurses Who Work on Pediatric Units, Parental Attitude Research Instrument-PARI, Coopersmith SelfEsteem Scale. Research data were analyzed using the Statistical Package for Social Sciences SPSS for Windows 10.0 and the number and percentage distribution of all factors was given. Statistical techniques of t-test and correlation analysis were used to examine the relationship between the nurses sociodemographic data and the scores from the PARI subgroups and the self-esteem scores. Being a member of a professional organization, participation in conferences, participating in any kind of personal development activity had a positive effect on the child development attitudes. A high self-esteem score also had a positive effect on child development attitudes
