In 19th Century Mahdi Movement which occured in Sudan made a significant effect on particularly East Africa. Muhammet Ahmet, who came to the world in an ordinary family and developed his own discourse through his religious acquisitions accomplished a reputation that he did not even expect. At the first stage, his religious expressions followed political expressions and the successful results of the opposition he created against the Ottoman ruler led him to be recognized in Sudan. Then, Muhammad Ahmet, who was supported by many people cause of his stance against British imperialism, was recognized by the whole world after his triumphs. The Mahdi Movement in Sudan, in which important academic studies were carried out in the following periods, laid the foundations of a new political organization known as the Mahdi State between 1885 and 1898. It is possible to see the deep traces of the Mahdi Movement in Sudan's political history during the 20th century. The manifesto of Muhammad Ahmet is undoubtedly a different field that theologians consider in detail. But this study aimed at explaining a brief biography of Muhammad Ahmad and the political and military struggle against the Ottoman and British forces between 1881 and 1885.
