Abstract:

This study aims to determine the opinions of primary school teachers on the aims of school management. It adopts a Mixed Methods approach, utilizing both qualitative and quantitative data collection and analysis techniques. The participants of the qualitative phase were chosen using criterion sampling and consisted of 16 primary school teachers who volunteered to participate in study. An interview form was used to obtain qualitative data, and content and descriptive analysis methods were used to analyze the qualitative data. The participants of the quantitative phase were chosen using random sampling and consisted of 104 primary school teachers. The quantitative data were obtained from a questionnaire. A descriptive analysis was carried out on the quantitative data. According to the results, teachers’ opinions on the aims of school management concentrate under the topics of organizational, functional, social and personal aims, and teachers think that the primary aims of school management are functional aims.
