Kişinin en değer verdiği hak, gizlilik ve sır olan şey olarak tanımlanan mahremiyet, bireyin toplumlaşma sürecindeki yapı taşlarından biridir. Mahremiyet bir haktır ve bu hakkın iki şekilde ihlali vardır: kişinin hakkının illegal yollarla alınması ve kişinin kendi iradesi ile mahremiyetini gözler önüne sermesidir. Özellikle kişinin kendi iradesini kullanarak gerçekleştirdiği mahremiyet ihlali günümüzde yaygın olarak kullanılan sosyal medya ortamları ile artmıştır. Sosyal ağlar arasında özellikle görsele dayalı olan mecralar bu artışa daha fazla zemin hazırlamıştır. Görsel tabanlı sosyal medyaların başında yer alan Instagram ise şüphesiz mahremiyet ihlalinin en çok yapıldığı alanlardan biridir. İnsanlar hem zamanlarının büyük çoğunluğunu hem de mahremiyet sınırlarını ağırlıklı olarak bu mecralarda kaybetmektedirler. Bu çalışmada, mahremiyetin sosyal ağlardan sonraki dönüşümü ele alınmıştır. Nicel verileri kullanılarak Erciyes Üniversitesi öğrencilerine anket uygulanmış ve Instagram kullanım şekilleri, amaçları ve farklılıkları sorgulanmıştır. Bu çalışma en nihayetinde toplumun geleceği olarak gördüğü, geleceğimizi emanet ettiğimiz gençlerin eğitim seviyeleri ile orantılı olarak ne derece bilinçli sosyal medya kullandıkları ve mahremiyet duyarlılıkları hakkında bilgi verecektir. Araştırma kapsamında Erciyes Üniversitesi bünyesinde yer alan ve rastlantısal yöntemle seçilen 10 fakültede toplam 600 öğrenciye anket uygulanmıştır. Eksik veya hatalı anketler çıkarıldığında 558 geçerli anket incelenmeye tabi tutulmuştur. Yapılan araştırma sonucunda öğrencilerin sosyal medyayı aktif kullandıkları ve gelir düzeyleri arttıkça mahremiyet ihlallerinin de arttığı belirlenmiştir.
Privacy, which is defined as the right, privacy and secret that a person is most valued, is one of the structural stones in the individual’s socialization process. Privacy is a right and this right is violated in two ways: the right of a person to be taken illegally and the right of a person to be privileged by his will. In particular, the privacy breach that a person commits using his own will has increased with the social media media media that is widely used today. Social networks, especially visual-based, have prepared more ground for this increase. Instagram, which is the head of visual-based social media, is undoubtedly one of the areas where privacy breaches are most committed. People lose the vast majority of their time and their privacy limits mostly in these fields. This study discussed the subsequent transformation of privacy from social networks. With the use of Nicel data, the survey was applied to Erciyes University students and Instagram uses, purposes and differences were questioned. This study will eventually give you information about the degree of conscious use of social media and their privacy sensitivities in proportion to the educational levels of the young people we trust in the future, which society sees as the future. In the framework of the study, a survey was carried out to a total of 600 students in 10 faculties located within the Erciyes University and selected by random method. When missing or wrong surveys were removed, 558 current surveys were subjected to review. The research has found that students actively use social media and that as their income levels increase, privacy breaches are also increasing.
Privacy, which is defined as the most valuable right, confidentiality and secret of the individual, is one of the building blocks of the individual's process of socialization. Privacy is a right and there is a violation of this right in two ways: the right of the person to be violated illegally and revealing one's private life at his/her own will. In particular, the violation of privacy by the person himself/herself at his/her own will has increased with the widely used social media environments. Especially, visual social media which is among the social networks have paved the way for this increase. Instagram, one of the foremost visual-based social media, is undoubtedly one of the areas where privacy is violated most frequently. People lose both the majority of their time and the limits of their privacy, predominantly in these media. In this study, the transformation of privacy after the advent of social networks is discussed. Using quantitative data, the students of Erciyes University were surveyed, and they were asked about their Instagram usage patterns, aims and differences. This thesis will provide information about the awareness of the social media and privacy sensibilities of the young people we regard as the future of society and entrusted our future to, in proportion to their educational level. Within the scope of the research, a total of 600 students were surveyed in 10 faculties, which were selected by means of accidental sampling method in Erciyes University. After the questionnaires which are incorrect or have missing information were excluded, 558 valid questionnaires were examined. As a result of the research, it was determined that the students used social media actively, and as the income levels increased, privacy violations increased.
